single stage snowblowers generally noisy

I have a single stage blower on my b100. The auger seems very noisy. Is this just the nature of the sigle because it spins so fast? I changed the bearings on the auger and tightned the chain. Still noisy!! :banghead:

Not sure what you mean by noisy? mine is kinda noisy, did you check the idler gears? should be two of them, they are worn on about every blower I've had.

I would agree with kelly but the snow blower that I bought today was a 42" and it runs quiet! it is in like new condition. I would pull the master link on your chain and check every bearing on your blower to find out witch one is making the noise. my old blower was very noisy and did't work nearly as well as my new one with a tall shout. My old one is going to get new idlers , chain this weekend to see if it is a little less noisy. good luck  :banghead:

:hide: yes they are and I think any #40 idler sprocket idler with a 1/2 bearing in it should work if its the same size. I'm going to try some from tsc, alittle cheeper. :ROTF:
