P3x 57 #1 Posted January 23, 2011 Hi Folks, After a couple of torment filled-weeks to decide on the WH model to purchase, my quest has ended. After digesting the advice and information received from the forum and clearing the latest snow fall I headed out and purchased the 520H mentioned in earlier posts. Got back with just enough daylight to make the unloading on the ramps I had rated at 750lbs (Each or as a Pair?) uneventful. What I ended up with is a 520H, Tiller, 48" Side Disc. Deck, and 42" Plow. Rear wheels having 75lb weights and chains mounted on each side (pics link http://s1205.photobucket.com/albums/bb427/p3xa1/?start=all ). New belts for all with only the deck blades needing replacement before putting it into use. The fellow I purchased it from graciously replaced the inop headlight, gave me a new tail light assy for the one that was out and went over the installation details all attachments. My friend who came along to assist (long time Bolens Q17 owner) was impressed with the quality of Wheel Horse tractors. A surprise after firing it up to move it into my already over-filled garage was the Tach is operational. I'm not sure if the PO had repaired it prior to the sale since he had not mentioned it so I'll take it as good Karma. As I sat on the tractor warming it up for its move in the garage, calm set in realizing my search was complete with the 520 home and somehow managing to make room to store all - with some decent walking room left. But this calm was fleeting. As I sat monitoring the gauges and checking things out, the Snow Mountains on each side of my drive way became more prevalent. They have reached my 1988 Toro 521 thrower

AMC RULES 37,196 #4 Posted January 23, 2011 As you said, a nice looking tractor there. What year is your 520? You'll like the blower set up much better if you also find and install a snow cab too. Keeps you much warmer while you're at it, especially in the wind. You won't get off of it looking like a snowman either. :banghead:

dennist 139 #13 Posted January 24, 2011 You will love the tractor and you should be relaxing now as the purchase will be much loved. Those tillers will surprise you in the spring if used! They do quite a job and are fun to use. The tractor is in much better condition then I imagined when you described it earlier-which is a good thing-Congrats and Enjoy!
