dgoyette 12 #1 Posted January 22, 2011 I got this last week from Rob65 along with a great blower, cart, a 56" blade, and a "parts" tractor. It was great meeting Rob and his wife, very nice people! After work I have been doing the usual maintenance items that I do with all new tractors. Replaced fuel lines, filter, all fluids and filters, plugs and points as the points looked pretty bad and spark was weak. Nice blue spark now. Tore down the carb and replaced all but the needles. Micah came over today and helped me tune the carb. Runs great!! Thanks for the help today Micah. The foot pedal works pretty good, but need to get a bit more comfort for it before I will use it in places requiring precise movement. Steering is nice and tight in this D! No leaks from transmission or the K482. The chains need to be sized. They are a few links two big. Rob put the bungees on because they fell off twice during a large storm. That must have been more than annoying. Here is a picture of the "parts" tractor that I am thinking may be another running D-160 versus becoming a parts tractor. Onan has compression. Has the hyrdo pump which was a nice surprise. Not sure on the rear end though. It kept locking up when moving it but it is not hooked up to anything - just bolted on - so I am not sure why it is locking up, but I suspect the decision on parts or not will depend on the health of the rear end. dgoyette 12 #18 Posted January 24, 2011 Doug - the rears are 26 - 12 -12 Good Years. Although they do look to my eye to be smaller than the 26" Carlisle I have on the other D-180. Sorry for the delay to all that want some good shots of the foot control. I will get some but have been running out of light and my cell phone camaea needs good light (the only camera I have right now). Will get some by Saturday at the latest.
