Deck issues...

Recommended Posts

Is this the way the deck is attached? With the "flat curved end" under the pin in the top hole and the deck fully lowered I can only get the rear of the deck in the second notch on the adjuster. When raised all the way up the rear comes up but the front stays down.

Any advise? Maybe afew pics of someone else's tractor that has this attachment system?

Thanks in advance.

I don't remember having that extra pin across the top on the rear bracket, Tim.

It's been a few years since I had the '69 Raider 10, but I know it picked the front of the deck up and the back just kind of followed along on the gauge wheels.

Try pulling that pin out and see what it does. :WRS:

I was hoping thats the way it should be. I mowed the lawn with no pin in place and didn't have any probs. I saw a post on MTF concerning how this deck and lift system went together and it was mentioned that the curved end went under a pin.

So I made one and I just don't see how its supposed to work.

Guess I'll go "pinless" from now on.

Thanks Terry

My deck was a 5-1422, Tim. It had the other style gauge wheel adjuster, and it did have a pin above the curved end of the mounting frame.

Both the RL-426 and 5-1421 (your style) are also showing that pin on the IPL's. I'll have to dig my '68 deck out tomorrow and see what's going on. :WRS:

As long as the back of your deck doesn't drop into a deep ditch, it shouldn't hurt to run it without the pin. :D
