K-341 muffler

Help..... my muffler broke

at the top of the muffler canister and my question is: is this repairable / weldable and will the repair last? If not, does anyone have a used / NOS/ aftermarket for sale? Has anyone used an aftermarket muffler, if one exists? The -341 still runs fine, albeit, a bit loud and the exhaust fumes can blow back in your face.

I will still plow snow in the morning, but need to repair my broken muffler as soon as I get my RS gurus to come to my rescue.

I know I could weld it, but I'm a bit too far away.

It looks like it's still pretty solid - it just broke from the vibration.

I agree it looks like it could be welded without issue. Just make sure you clean all the rust and exhaust dust from the weld area prior to.

if u look at the oem price i bet u will get it welded,i looked at one for my c101 and they wanted more for the muffler than i paid for the tractor

Steve, I've gotten them on ebay and there's one on there now that looks like it might work.

I did look up the OEM and see why welding is the way try first. AmI correct to assume that there is no aftermarket supplier ??? - e.g. - Thailand, China, Cuba, or Mongolia

There is welder just a half block from the house, if I can find him home. He has welded for a living for 36 years.

Nothing in the aftermarket that I know of.

You can ask the welder to add a few braces between the top edge of the muffler body and the inlet pipe, but make sure you allow enough room for the air cleaner. :banghead:
