JimD 3,345 #4 Posted January 16, 2011 Unhook the tie rod, get the spindle lined up with the steering arm and drive the pin out with the correct size pin punch, then drive in a new pin.

elixir20 1 #7 Posted January 16, 2011 Thanks guys. I'll give it a go. Is the pin anything special?
TT-(Moderator) 1,127 #8 Posted January 16, 2011 It should actually have double roll pins in that hole. The outside pin is 1/4" X 1 3/8" with a 5/32" x 1 3/8" pin driven through the inside of the larger pin for strength. Cheap (Taiwan/China) roll pins don't amount to squat - use "quality" roll pins or buy the OEM pieces from a Toro dealer. 933216 & 933174 are the OEM part numbers. If the holes are worn, you can drill them out and installer larger roll pins - if it hasn't already been done.

Kelly 1,028 #15 Posted January 18, 2011 I would pull the steering arm off to take a peek at the hole in the spindle, most are worn, almost slots, and would be best to drill it over size.

I agree with Kelly, you should pull the arm off and see if the hole is warn. you don't want to have this happen again. very nice tractor and good luck :banghead:
