Buzz 502 #1 Posted May 8, 2008 While tractor hunting today I stopped and looked at the c-120 I posted about in the for sale section last week. It's in good condition, complete, just missing the motor and starter. the woman who owned it befores husband had removed it and sent it to a shop for rebuild, but had a heart attack and died before he got it back. It sat in the garage for several years before she decided to get rid of it. no idea where the moter went. It's a 1-0375 which had a Tecumseh HH-100 (see wanted ad). My question is, if I can't find the right Tecumsh, how hard would it be putting a Kohler K301 in it? If I can find one. It also comes with a 6-6211 1968 snow thrower in good condition only the chute cable is broken and the little metal wheel has been replaced with a bigger pneumatic tire(?). He's asking $300 but I'm sure if it's there this weekend he'll come down. So.....is it a good deal or not? Almost time to replace the 856, old smokey.......... TT-(Moderator) 1,162 #2 Posted May 8, 2008 You might be able to round up an HH-120 from a Sears tractor, but I'd aim for the Kohler. As long as the Kohler has a WH oil pan (or you use some "J" bolts on the right side) it's a simple swap, Buzz. The ignition switch will have to be changed, along with a wire or two, but that should be about it. If it's very nice, $300 might not be so terrible. I'm sure you're hoping to get a better deal than that though. :D
WheelHorse_of_course 99 #3 Posted May 9, 2008 Does it include the clutch and mounts that operate the clutch? Also, keep in mind that the 1 1/8 shaft used on a horse is not as common as some other sizes. Since it has the snow thrower I would consider $200 fair. Is it hydro or gear. If it is gear drive you could easily get by with a 8 or 10 HP engine, IMHO
