68 lawn ranger snow thrower

Hey guys, I have a 68 lawn ranger with the snow plow on it. Works good but would love to have the snow blower setup instead cause driveway is too big and when we get a decent storm it takes forever to plow. My question is are any other snow blower models compatible with my ranger cause I am having a hard time finding the 32" model for that tractor. Thanks

Most of the early 32" blowers are the same but the mounting bracket is different, you might modifiy it to work, I believe it's only the bracket, a ranger one is straight others have a bend upward.

Just what Kelly said. I have 2 rangers, one with a plow and one with a blower. I looked everywhere I could think of to find the "correct" one for a ranger with no luck. I did some checking on the manuals for the ranger, and then a 32" one that I found.

I ended up getting a 6-2211 (think that is the number) and found the only thing that was different is the mount. The ranger is flat, whereas the bigger tractors has a bend it to make up for the height difference.

I used the blower with both brackets, both work the same as they should.

I actually would like to find a 36" blower to put on my ranger or maybe the tractor I'm building, since power won't be an issue.

I am not sure you will be happy with a snow blower for your Ranger. I have one for my L107 but it didn't work that well. She does much better with her plow. If you have more snow than she can handle with the plow the blower will choke on the first pass. You can't go slow enough with the 3 speed. (Think that your walk behinds have 6-10 HP engines and can go very slowly).

If you get one the bracket as mentioned needs to be straight and you will have to find and/or fabricate the idler pulley setup.

I have one on my Ranger & it works great for the area I'm useing it in.

The bigger blowers with the wings are to wide for the local walks & the Ranger/blower really is suited better to the smaller walks & parking area I keep clear.

I swapped out the 3 speed for an 8 speed a few winters back.

That made a big difference in slowing the Ranger down when I needed to.

Your speed will depend a lot on the snow conditions too.

The lighter the snow is the faster you can travel into it, heavier wet snow you have to slow down.

I HAVE A ST-324 SNOWBLOWER also on my 1967 L-157 Lawn Rangers (thanks to ROLLERMAN -Steve -Glad to see you got your other one going and hope that lift part measurements worked for you!) and I am very pleased.

It has the H60 Tecumseh motor on it.

Pretty much as it was new from Wheel Horse factory.

No it will not shoot snow far or fast but in first gear on a six to eight inch snow it will do fine and as I say "It beats shoveling and you get to ride that nice little tractor!".

I have a long concrete covered drive at my house and no sidewalks in the neigborhood but it manuevers around pretty steady on that surface. I had chains on last two years but did not put them on this year as I have some new concrete on the drive. I may invest in the rubber snow chains for this tractor as I like them on my B-80 with the snowplow. I use the snowblower for the deeper snows and the B-80 for the under four inch snowfalls.

Here is a video from December of the Lawn Ranger and snowblower in action.

You see me using my feet several times to move the tractor for lack of traction on the wet snow but I am still not shoveling and it is just plain fun to operate!!
