Flames comming out the exhaust i cant ge tthis thing to run very good at all. Anyone know what the going rate is for a tune up? All the parts are new so labor should be all I need.

What kind of engine and did you do the carb adjutment by the book yet?

Is it a K1818 or a K181S ?

If you have the K181, download this manual for safe keeping as it has the carb adjustment in there too, just for starters. You might have other problems but you should have this book for your collection anyway.

Re check the points.

Make sure the plunger is FULLY extended then set the proper gap using a feeler guage.

These affects your timing so it is crucial to proper operation.

David you could have a sticky exhaust vavle too. i have had that problem a few times with old cast iron engines that have sat for a long while.

Points will get adjusted tomorrow. I think they may have come loose during the repaint. Ive downloaded 2 manual but they didnt look like that one and weren't as big. so hopefully it will have more info than the other ones.

you might have the carburetor adjusted too lean. Try and richen it up a little.
