 David,

no need to explain. The main thing is that it will soon be ready to work.

I hope you are having fun. :WRS:

Remember, the more mashed knuckles fixing it up, the more you will enjoy using her!

:D :D

Lookin good David! Your new hub will fit right in. Looks like you do have quite a fight on your hands to get that other one off though! Good luck! Hope you've been hitting it with PB Blaster or Kroil at least once a day. That will work wonders. I'd think that your best bet would be to try to grip the hub somehow and drive the axle out of it rather than trying to pull the hub? Not sure.

When they look like that :WRS: , it's easiest to split them parallel with the axle using a 1/8" thick cut-off wheel on a small angle grinder. Do it on the side opposite the keyway and if the axle gets nicked a little, it doesn't hurt a thing.

Does this part come off? not the whole pulley but just that part the clutch rides on.

I dont like the tires but they got me rolling. My replacement hub is to big for the center of the stock tires.

It looks better than the pictures show. I still need to fix the fender plate and get a new seat. The hood has its first coat but needs one more before i mount it.

Yes, it is supposed to be a slip-fit on the crankshaft.

I'd say yours is "rust-welded" in place though.

Every one that I reassemble gets a light coating of anti-seize just for that particular reason.

Thats what i thought. It doesn't look like there is any room to get a puller of any kind on it.

DuramaxDavid, I purchased my '73 Wheel Horse 8 4 SPEED at the '06 Wheel Horse show in PA The pewrson who used the tractor mowed his lawn with it always stored it in his Garage and maintained it every Spring . I replaced the decals and front tires with rims I'd ordered from NORTHERN TOOL - EQUIPMENT

I picked up some 20x8.00-10 rear wheels they needed new valve stems because the old were broken on the rims . it runs like a Champ with no smoke or knock .

Nope -- you can't get a puller on it.

Do you have any PB Blaster? Spray some back the keyway in the crankshaft and let it soak for a while. If you don't plan on reusing the PTO bearing race, you can try tapping around the outside of it to help loosen it up. :WRS:

OR..... :D put a pipe wrench on it and smack the handle with a hammer.

(you didn't hear that from me though! :D )
