sorekiwi 761 #26 Posted March 2, 2011 If I use my battery charger I do it at 6 amps (max for that particular old charger). I have an old generic 12V power supply that only puts out 2 amps and that works OK too, just a bit slower. Doesnt seem like I'm normally in too much of a hurry for my parts, I throw them in to cook overnight, or else while I'm at work, so most of them get a minimum of 8 hours anyway. condo630 6 #30 Posted May 29, 2011 Will it take paint off? Yes it will take some paint off. I want to take off old paint with a small bit of rust here and there. It's not peeling, just faded. After doing my front rims, I'm sick of wire wheeling, and I don't have access to sandblasting equipment, but I could hook up an E tank. Am I better off paying someone to sandblast it? Stigian 1,234 #31 Posted May 30, 2011 Am I better off paying someone to sandblast it? I say build a E-tank. They cost next to nothing to build, strip rust and paint off a treat, and you won't have to pay someone to blast future items. Just stick em in the tank for a couple of days :hide:
