Sparky-(Admin) 23,199 #2 Posted January 9, 2011 Out I guess . More info would be good like which tractor, front or rear, size of rims/tires. Generally on a Wheel Horse the deep section goes to the outside. Mike.......
COMMANDO1 23 #3 Posted January 9, 2011 Here is the tractor, the width of the tires are about 43 inches with deep hub out.
COMMANDO1 23 #4 Posted January 9, 2011 These rims are from a t856,this is a commando which had 10" rims on back. They are now 12". the original rims had the axel hub centered. Does this look to wide or should i flip them around?
COMMANDO1 23 #5 Posted January 9, 2011 also look at the hub different size, do i need different hubs?
COMMANDO1 23 #6 Posted January 9, 2011 for one they are on backwards
Kelly 1,033 #7 Posted January 9, 2011 Well to start your right, the tires are on backwards, but your tractor has the long axles, it had the 10" rims from factory, and the offset on them needed the long axle so not to rub the body, you have have them on the normal way most WH's have the rear wheels but with the long axles you could maybe mount them the other way and still fit, the farther out you stick the tires the more stress on the axle and outer bearings. COMMANDO1 23 #8 Posted January 9, 2011 Just put the tires on the right way, tryed putting the deep hub inward but would not work. The 10.50 tires rubbed the plow frame. Just going to have to leave them.
TT-(Moderator) 1,162 #9 Posted January 9, 2011 I'm not too sure you'll follow me on this, but........ If you can get the hubs off of the axles, bolt the hubs to the wheels opposite of how they are in the pictures above, then slide the wheel/hub on to the axle together and tighten the set screw. The tire & wheel would be facing just like you have them now, but the hub would be flipped the other way and on the "outside" of the wheel. The only other way to (easily) "fix" it would be to use wheels with a different (more centered) offset - like was used on many JD garden tractors.
