need help detailing tractor

OK, I guess this is a tractor question. Or maybe a restoration question, or both or neither..............duh :banghead:

But I am real, REAL happy with the way my 701 cleaned up. Terrys decals and GlenJeris dash just blew me away! Everybodys help here steering me in the right direction was fantastic.........My son (a JD fanatic with green under his fingernails) and my grandson were overjoyed and spent a good part of their visit riding all around the airport and out in the desert on the RJ and the 701.

But there is A PROBLEM! A couple people remarked that 'grandpa' got a NEW TRACTOR for christmas! Of course, Wheelhorse is not real common in Arizona, but to mistake a 50 (yeah, FIFTY) year old tractor for a new tractor was just amazing.............

So, now everyone's gone back home to the snow and cold and I'm sitting here with a pina'colada looking at the 'ol gal and thinking "how to I finish the job"

And I spot the front axels! They are naked and greasy!

and I realize the axel caps are missing.....something I never paid attention to before.

So off to GlenJeris site to place an order and now, here's the PROBLEM!

What color do I order ?

I can't believe I would ever be asking that question.........

I still have to find the right seat........you know the one for big butts ( ( ), shaped like a letter D.......even though my (() fits this one.....and I suppose a red and white seat cover so my rear don't fry and stick to the pan in the hot summer sun, and I guess chrome rear hub caps and a beer holder...........ED

Originally it has beige caps with out logos, but I like the red myself.

By the way if you want the orig. plain ones Toro still sells them, not to take a sale from Glenn, he's a friend and lives near by, and brings me goodies so I don't want to make him mad, his stuff is top notch.

I chose black. Beige didn't match the wheels and red didn't match the tractor!!!

and I am kinda leaning towards the red ones, but I do like the black for my RJ too, but putting caps on my RJ will be like nailpolish on a goat,,,

I would go with the red ones for the 701

and the RJ black ones (sometimes a goat likes to feel pretty too) :banghead:

***Temporary Post Hijack***

Redbirdman,

Great flight shots...thanks. My ticket ran out in the mid-90's and I've never gotten around to "re-upping" it. I was pretty much a spam-can flyer, although a good friend of mine (and fellow WH enthusiast) is an amazing pilot, who's flown lots of hardware. He has his own "sporty little bird", so I get to fly with him.

Now for the record, my friend would never bust any FARs, so in a completely unrelated post, here's a short video of some unknown flier paying me a visit last summer....

Thanks Chesbay........

:hide::hide: I saw nothing :thumbs:

BTW:

Here is a SINGLE cap 140.jpg

on EVIL bay right now...........I'm thinking I may just buy the one and then only drive around in circles ?????

I know it will cost me over 10 bucks for the one, it's pink, crispy and has spots of silver in the finish............

or I can go to GlenJeri and get TWO new ones ..........and then I can drive around in figure eights! :banghead:

I'm leaning towards the GlenJeri idea........ :ROTF:
