Plowed with the C-85,snowblowed with the C-120!

The C-120 worked great,with no problems at all.I did all the cleanup and by the road with the C-85/plow.I took off down the road to plow a friends house with the 85,and was doing fine.Turning around in the road the front left wheel fell off rolling down the street .After getting her off the ST,i looked around and found a wheel bearing that fell out and grabbed the wheel also.With no C clip to be found i had to think quick.I walked home and grabbed a pair of vice grips and liteweight jack.Back in action for and finished up with ease .

I had that happen last year. The ice somehow built up on the bolt on the end of shaft. It somehow backed out and the wheel fell off. I found bolt and used a big stick to pick up front of trator and was on my way. I now have caps on there so that doesn't happen again

I keep extra 3/4 inch c-clips for my older machines.When I re-install front wheels that have the 3/8 bolt I put a drop of loc-tite on them.So far.....so good.We had fun plowing here in Stillwater,NY this morning.About 10 inches of light fluffy snow.And the best part........no wind.

That sucks and yes, I've been there before (with that tractor ) . Some front spindles have a threaded hole in the end for a bolt/washer which holds the rim on and that is the best setup in my opinion. The clip setup is lousy. Musta been cheaper .

Did it plow good without weights?

Had the same thing happen on my C-121 clip popped off, then the wheel, mine had grease caps, the clip was in the cap still on the wheel, I like the bolt set up much better, I think the clips give out with all the side pressure from the blade.

We only got a few inches up here on the MA border,but i was very surprised how well it did!No weight/chains and these WH's get pretty good traction.Last storm i used a JD 140 with a 54 blade(chains)and the traction was not good!!!

thats on of the things that i like about wh,u can almost allways geter done with a little enginuity,u can sometimes use mecanics wire and twist it tight to get home shall we say :banghead:

Been there did that with my C-175 while plowing last year

Bolts with locktite are better ( have had those loosen on occasion also) but I have gone to the cotter pin spindles for the plow tractor. In the winter I leave the hub caps off so I can easily check and make sure all is well before I start out.
