Rjs in Britain

Has anyone from euro horse seen an RJ35 or RJ 58 here in the uk

I only know of two people that own an rj58 one of them being owned by Chris sutton

the other is owned by someone local to me

apart from these two i dont think i know of anyone else that owns an RJ in Uk

I know that there are a few suburbans over here

At what point did wheelhorse tractors start to be imported to Britain.

I understand that they had a few RJs in spain

would be grateful if anyone could shed some light on this

Neil,

Afraid i can't help you out, the extent of my knowledge is that :banghead: were made in the US, and later Belgium. Somewhen in the '60,s Mountfield in Berkshire started importing them.

If the model's you refer to, pre date this, then how they came to our shores i would only be able to guess at. I'm not on the show/collector circuit, i watch the Bay, but can't recall seeing either of these machines.

Good luck on your quest.

According to "Straight from the Horses Mouth" a number of RJ58/9s were shipped to Spain.

Leading on from Vins point, some Brit's have second or hoilday homes in spain, maybe a few tractors found their way home that way?...prior to the 60's :banghead:

Somewhere in the RS basement is a post where someone found a UK pricelist or dealer ad that listed an RJ-58. I don't have time to look for it now, but I remember the discussion.
