elixir20 1 #1 Posted January 7, 2011 OK guys and gals, time for me to become a real RS member. Here is how the story goes. This past spring I got tired of constantly fiddling with my 1994 Sears lawn tractor. I was not looking for anything particular, other than not another Craftsman. So onto CL I go and after a while I find this nice red tractor an hour or so from me at an old Toro-Wheelhorse dealer. It was a 211-5 or something like that, with a blower and mower deck. Off I go with $$$ in hand. When I get there the owner of the shop asks me what I'll be doing with it. Then he says, OK, this one is not for you, but I do have the perfect one over here...So, this became my first WheelHorse, a 310-8: I have a plow and 37" (?) deck to go with it. So I use this all summer for mowing and hauling firewood around. Then I find RedSquare and am bitten! The old point of no return! Over the summer while at an antiques market I see a posterboard that has a bunch of tractors pictured on it. One of the says simply "old wheelhorse". I talk to the guy and he does not know anything about it, model, year, etc. He does say it runs well. So off I go later that week to take a look at it. More $$$ changes hand, and I cram this into my truck, along with a plow, mower deck and trailer. This little 854 rocks! So here's the last part of the story (at least for now). There is a guy near me that is a retired something or other that keeps busy by taking supposedly junk mowers from the dump and fixing them up. He calls me an says I found one of those red tractors you like. I go up the street to take a look see. In exchange for some nonfunctional equipment I come home with this C-161 Twin Auto. It came with a 42" mower deck. I just bought the blower from CL. So, that is my story for now. I don't have any specific plans for what's next, as I kind of like the way things have unfolded on there own so far. As an aside, does anyone have a lens for the C-161 for sale? Here is the trio together:

Where are you and which dealer? I work in South East Ct. and go to Bozrah Power for all my Wheel Horse parts. Mike............
