Horse Fanatic 49 #1 Posted January 6, 2011 I picked up a '97 60" deck and need some parts. I believe I read Toro didn't make these. Who did and can I get parts cheaper from the manufacturer than Toro?
Kelly 1,028 #2 Posted January 6, 2011 I've heard the deck is the same as the ones used on JD's with different hangers, not sure who made them.
zieg72 209 #3 Posted January 6, 2011 I think woods made them for Toro but I am not 100% for certain
Cody 275 #4 Posted January 6, 2011 The 60' deck on the D-250 is the same as the 60' deck used on the john deere 400 series tractors but i assume we are talking about a deck for the 520 . I have also heard that woods made them but I'm not 100% sure. I can say this, it is one well built deck.
wh500special 2,073 #5 Posted January 6, 2011 I think - but have never confirmed - that the 60" 520-style deck may have been the same as some Dixie Choppers used. The timeline fits considering this deck showed up around 1988 when WH was rebadging DC zeroturns as 718's, 720's, and 724's. That's only speculation on my part. These, I know: 1. The 60" flexible flyer deck on the C195 was an Ariens shell. 2. The 60" and 72" rear mount deck for the D-series was from Woods (RM59 and RM 72). 3. The 60" deck under the D250 was the from Deere's model 400. Most OEM's value their parts and supply chains similarly. Helping your local Toro dealer out with a few sales may be worth it in other ways. Steve
