dgjks6 6 #1 Posted January 4, 2011 I am planning my rebuild order and was looking at various parts diagrams on the toro website. It says to coat the lift lever arm with "Anyi-Rust Compund, Texaco "L" Light Code 1976, or equivalent". Is there something like that I can get at Walmart or Advance Auto? .5racer 14 #4 Posted January 4, 2011 Purple power s#cks ,,,, Go to walmart back to the auto section for body putty area . A few shelfs down you will find a small square like white bottle called ,,, Rust-Oleum , Rust Reformer ,,, Converts rust to a protected paintable surface. There use to be a spray can at Advanced Auto that worked better. Went on clear and turned black... This goes on white and turns blak and is sandable for painting.. Just make sure to wear gloves and waite the 1 day dry time. Have used on my Truck snow plows and 3 years and no rust has showed up yet. All my D's painted parts have this on them as a base coat . rmaynard 14,911 #5 Posted January 4, 2011 Here is a website that describes what Texaco "L" is and what it does. I think it is still available. It is not a rust converter. http://www.matweb.com/search/datasheettext...4e37520d6bf3f21 Bob
TT-(Moderator) 1,128 #6 Posted January 4, 2011 I just use plain old anti-seize. Make sure you wipe it off of the exposed areas before painting though.

4xfourfun 30 #8 Posted January 4, 2011 I love the Anti-Seize too. I always end up with it all over the place though.... :banghead:
Kelly 1,028 #9 Posted January 4, 2011 Anti-seize all the way, I have 3 or 4 bottles of it, use it on everything that I want to take back apart someday, it is kinda messy but works good.
