877 hydro lever question

My new 877 hydro has a small(i hope)problem.The hydro lever has no tension to keep it in place(for./bac.).Is there an adjustment i can make,or tighten???

The only friction adjustment on the '65-'67 hydros is the screws/springs/tension plates that secure the nylon cam plate at the front of the pump.

Clean everything and install a new cam plate (#5996) DRY (no lubricant) and see if that helps. Don't overtighten the screws.

The first generation hydros are a little quirky & jerky, but you'll get used to it. :ychain:
