Banjo 0 #1 Posted May 6, 2008 I don't have an application for this, but has anyone ever had experience using one of these to replace your onan or other WH engine? http://www.smallenginewarehouse.com/produc...PN=GX670-WH-

Sparky-(Admin) 23,170 #3 Posted May 6, 2008 But $1700 before shipping on the 16hp Kohler is alot of money . My most expensive WH so far was only $800. I suppose if you had a tractor in great shape but with a bum motor you'd be all set for a long time with that repower. Mike..........

Still, I'd like to have one of those new Kohlers for a rainy day, just not at that price!
Nick 13 #5 Posted May 6, 2008 I dont have one but a few weeks back I had someone stop by that had his D-200 used for the first swap Small engine warehouse had done on a D series. He was happy with it and said it had a lots of power. Other than that Ive heard both good and bad about the kits he puts together.

DMESS 24 #9 Posted May 6, 2008 I'm guessing the Honda would be a wicked little engine on a 520 if you wanted a modern 2 cylinder replacement. Their stuff seems to run forever without much concern for its well being! I think of all those go karts in the amusement parks with the OHV Hondas just running all day long, day in, day out. My Lawn Boy Insight walker has a Honda on it and so far I am quite pleased with its performance.
Banjo 0 #10 Posted May 7, 2008 If I bought the Honda Engine, I think I would have to put a WH sticker over top of the Honda Sticker, and hope the Honda red closely resembles Toro Red New LOL
Banjo 0 #11 Posted May 7, 2008 I don't have an application for this, but has anyone ever had experience using one of these to replace your onan or other WH engine? http://www.smallenginewarehouse.com/produc...PN=GX670-WH-520 I like how they took the time to setup everything for a drop in replacement. Here's some notes from the ad, "Replaces the Onan engine that is no longer available These come pre-wired to plug right in to your existing wiring. Mounting base to bolt it down to your existing holes are included. An oil drain valve is included." Here'e the page to check for "repower" engines for a bunch of applications, http://www.smallenginewarehouse.com/Repower.asp
Curmudgeon 28 #12 Posted May 7, 2008 I always liked the picture they used showing the 520. http://www.smallenginewarehouse.com/Repowe...orse&Model=520H
