can whlvr 991 #1 Posted January 2, 2011 as i posted a little time ago that my k241 on my c101 blew up,well today i had a few minutes to look at the motor and what do i find,a MOUSE nest in the flywheel shrowd,it hadnt blocked all the air but enough to do damage,i used to keep this machine outside to pull my garbage hut to the road every week,so it would pay to pay attension to the head and try to look into the shrowds before starting her up. Brandonsj04 0 #2 Posted January 2, 2011 Can whlrv, there isn't much we can tell you until we are able to see the inside of the engine. The mouse nest that was inside the shroud didn't allow sufficient cooling of the engine, resulting in the pistons and rings to expand too much, causing undue stress on connecting rod, which ultimately broke. We are going need to see the damage done to the crankshaft journals as well as the scoring in the cylinder walls. As far as used replacement engines, I myself am having a hard time finding one reasonably priced, so it almost makes it worthwhile to rebuild, although your mileage may vary.
