I wasnt home for the "big" storm New England just got but today I'm home and had some seat time. My new C-165 did most of the work with a plow but the drifted snow up near the garage had to be tackled with my blower. My son grabbed a couple pics and here they are. I just love watching what that single stage hooked to my 416 can do!

Yes I do think the singles work as good as the two stage most all the time, and that is proof.

I agree, although I'm sure we both agree that it varies a lot depending on if its wet or dry snow..... However my single stage setup works awesome in either, only downfall is that I think to spin a single stage fast enough to be competitive with 2 stage, it will use more power. Mine is setup to spin FAST and it throws snow a looong way, but it makes the 20hp Onan work pretty hard to do it. On a 2 stage the auger is a lot less rotating mass and doesn't spin near as fast, the blower spins faster but is a lot less rotating mass so in theory a lot less power is actually "used".....

Very cool Mike, also proof that the 416 and tall chute single stage is a favorite combo for a lot of guys for very good reason. :ychain:

WOW,mysingle blower and the c160 cant shoot snow near that far,maybe its the long chute?
