Redbirdman 7 #11 Posted December 28, 2010 Ohhhhhhhh. OK, now I get it. I did not equate breathing (lungs) with exhaust.. I would have been more inclined to think some other part of the body with 'EXHAUST'....( ) ) <<<<<< butt....one way or the other she looks good ED :D
flyovrcntry 115 #12 Posted December 28, 2010 Ever try removing paint from decals or stickers with oven cleaner? I have had pretty good luck with it,just spray it on and wait . It is hard to say how long it takes, just depends on the paint.I just check it with a cloth after a few minutes, but dont leave it on too long. After it is removed with a cloth wash it with soap and water to be sure all of the cleaner is gone
Redbirdman 7 #13 Posted December 28, 2010 oven cleaner but don't let it get on the WH red! or you will have Wheel Horse PINK! It also works great on baked on grass/grease on mower decks, but it will change the paint. :ychain:
flyovrcntry 115 #14 Posted December 28, 2010 oven cleaner but don't let it get on the WH red! or you will have Wheel Horse PINK! It also works great on baked on grass/grease on mower decks, but it will change the paint. never had that happen before, thats why I said to wash it off. It's not perfect but cheaper than striping, painting and new decals.

They are intact, i am going to try to save them this spring. did it quiet it down good??? I'll have to swing by and check it out sometime.. Commando looks much better! Carl a few weeks ago mine was sounding like $h!t and after I took the Ole exhaust off i discovered the Innards were blown apart! That explained the rattling sound that I had been hearing! So I did like he did and replaced mine with a farmall muffler and a flapper I used a long radius electrical 90deg el that was the same thickness as the other exhaust components and tig welded everything together, only used 1 u clamp at the stub on the engine. The white you see in the picture is the galvanizing burning off I have since painted with some spoiled exhaust paint that is now flaking off so I will need to get some good exhaust paint and redo. How does it sound? Much Much better! Lower solid tone! flapper only flaps at an idle
DMK855 15 #17 Posted December 28, 2010 Commando, the exhaust looks great!! :ychain:

Redbirdman 7 #19 Posted December 28, 2010 never had that happen before Ya know, it may be the strength or type of Oven Cleaner!! The one in the yellow can did damage the paint on me on one cleaning. So maybe a different brand would be more mild................dunno AFA Horse Fixer flapper only flaps at an idle I LOVE flaps.................... cling cling ding ding cling :D
COMMANDO1 23 #20 Posted December 28, 2010 Yes is sounds great, did get quieter, seems to be running better also(dont know why)and yes that is what i was going to use (oven cleaner)dont care about getting on paint, going to get a new paint job in the spring(dont kill me but i dont think it will be wh red, i like the look of satin black.
