Well originally that tractor was first built as a 953 which came out in 1963. After that it was again produced in 1964 as a 1054. It again was produced as the 1054A which was produced in !965 and possibly in 1966. Then in 1969 reappeared as the GT14. The 953,1054 and the 1054A were the predessor's to the GT14. Thats all I know for now. See Ya, Bye Burly :ychain:

:D Thanks everyone for your replys. I bought a 48" mower

deck off a 1054 tractor for my gt-14 but it looks like a a little

different set up as the way the pulley system is on tractor frame

area. wondering if this could be made to works as the deck is

really nice shape and very heavy duty? I was told it would fit when

I bought it but now I am not sure. :ychain:

Boatman, I am not real sure but I am going to venture to guess that It Will Not Work on your GT14. That is only a guess but I am confident that I am correct as I also have a 1054 thar has a deck. Two completely different tractors. But as I said they were the work horses of there time. Like estate tractors. See Ya, Bye

Boatman the 1054 were made in 64 & 65 (1054A).

Like John mentioned the mower decks between the GT14 & 1054's are completely different animals.

I've never done it persoanlly, but have been told a late 60ies pre tach a matic deck can be modified to fit.

These decks are common on the Raiders & Chargers that were made in that time frame.

Again I haven't done this, but have been told by a friend in the know you can alter the position of the deck hangers to get that type of deck to fit the large frame GT14.

Hope tis was more helpfull than confusing.
