Is it one wheel drive or two.

I have a lot of hilly terrain at my place and the turf tires tend to slip.

If my 416-8 has one wheel drive I should be able to put on a more aggressive tire without tearing my yard up, but if it's anything like my ATV's and is always possi, it will mess the yard up pretty good.

Does anyone know if the 416 is 1 or 2 wheel drive?

Your 416 has an 8-pinion transaxle. The only "limited" slip that I know of is the 10-pinion.

Its a 1 wheel drive. I think the Raider 10"s had the 10 pinion that Karl mentioned and they were 2 wheel drive.

All the Wheel Horse transmissions have a differential since about 1957 on to present.

They drive on both sides...but the diff will unload on the side with the least amount of traction.

Adding weight to the rear wheels will help this.

As Karl mentioned some of the early 6 speeds were a limited slip design.
