Non driveway marring snow plow wear bars

Recommended Posts

Buzz

I just had my driveway resurfaced this past summer and don't want to scrape it up too badly when I plow. I'm going to use ag tires with heavy wheel weights but what can I do to keep the plow from tearing up the asphalt especially when the blade is on an angle. I remember that this was discussed quite a while back but no matter what key words I use I can't find it by searching. :ychain: I'll use the plow on 3"- 5" snows, deep ones I'll use the snow thrower.

Sandwiching a piece of conveyor belting or UHMW polyethylene between the cutting edge and the blade is normally how it's done, Buzz.

Here's a link to some pre-cut UHMW: CLICKY :ychain:

Thanks Terry. I've been looking to find a supplier of UHMW in my area but the link you sent with it being precut is probably how I'm going to go.

Save Old Iron

cutting strips of the same dimension from a "horse mat" from TSC(35$) would probably give you a lifetime supply of soft edges.

Tractor Supply also sells conveyor belting as is used on round hay balers.

I have seen it in two different widths.
