I just spent the better part of the day blowing snow with the C-160 and I'm in agony. It's a great machine with guts, but it's far to small for me. I'm 6'6" tall and pushing 300 pounds. Bundled up with bibs and a coat, the steering wheel was digging in my belly. My feet keep sliding of the boards and my knees are past horizonal.

Can anyone reccomend a bigger frame tracor that would fit me a little better?

on a d you still sit close to the steering wheel if your c160 doesnt have a tilt back seat pan you could mone the seat back and maybe put a bracket from the back of the seat to the hitch for xtra suport

What year is the C-160?

If it's a '76 or '77, you could try mounting the adjustable seat tracks, etc. from a 400/500 series and possibly even making seat riser brackets to get you some more room.

I suppose you could still install risers and move the seat back on the old flip-up fenders, but you'll want to make sure they don't come unlatched and dump you off the back.

You could also install a smaller steering wheel from one of the WH lawn tractors built in the early 90's.

I have a "D" and they are not a roomy tractor. My "C" has more room to stretch. I would see what you can do to move the seat back an inch or two.

I'm 6' 8" and 245lbs. I remounted my seat a bit further back. HUGE difference. Only downside is that the front end feels lighter in the summer months when I'm pulling hills. I'm sure some front weight would help. Just haven't gotten around to it.

I hate to say it, but the roomiest tractor I've ever been on was a case high wheeled tractor, I have a buddy that is about 6'4" and near 500lbs and that is the only tractor he fits on, he has 3 of them.

Is the seat on your C mounted on the U shaped springs?

Some of the older Horses didn't have them or were robbed of them.

If you don't have any they will help set you up & back a little.

Otherwise like TT said....look into slideing seat tracks & watch the fender latch if your model has one.

I agree with TT on this! I added springs to my Raider 14 seat and it made a huge difference. Sliding tracks and the black coil helper springs will also give you the Cadillac ride and feel I think your looking for.

I'll probably get criticized heavily for this, but the Simplicity Powermax offers a midsize tractor feel in a "larger garden tractor" package.....

It's a 73 model with the tilt-back fender. The seat is mounted right to the fender. It's back as far as it'll go. There are no springs. I've seen those on some member's pics and wondered if they might help.

I am 6'4" and 350 lbs. I just bought a D-250 that needs the raised about 4" and pushed back about 6". The roomiest I have used and now own is a Toro/Wheelhorse 268H. Worked great with the snowthrower yesterday.

A C195 will fit the bill, The seat on them sits higher on the frame than the rest.

Or a newer 260, 400, 500 series vertical shaft.

On my 417xt (2003) Im 6' 220lbs, the seat is only 1/2 way back and the tilt wheel is all the way down, with this setting I sit about 8" from the wheel.

With your fender pan being a flipup before you move the seat back futher I would change the fender pan and mounting hardwear to a 76/77 C series to eliminate the flipup feature for safetys sake. I HATE them things! Been flipped off more than once on one of those! :ychain:

I"m not a big guy (at least in height!) but based on how mine is set up, I'd suggest you try a GT-14. Mine is definitely larger than most, and the seat is easily adjustable. Since they were only made 1969-1972, you might have problems finding one, but most attachments should work.

I would suggest that you move the seat back as far as it will go. Then add some 2X2 spacers with some longer bolt to mount the seat. I'm not tall but I have added seat spacers to a cheap tractor that was given to me to make it more conformable.

Don't knock them till you try one they are nice, power steering, 3 points, rear ptos, turning brakes, the list goes on......

Had one, steering is a weird setup, ross gearbox hooked to a slave valve in the steering linkage and if you dont keep presure on it, it wanders. Steering it reminded me of my 63 Newport, sold it!

Another option if it has the "u" springs is an adjustable seat from TSC or the like I have on on my 210H and it comes with the tracks. About $120 but I love the seat! :ychain:

Even on a D series your limited by the gas tank, unless you extend the rear panel 2 1/2" and move the tank back.

Makes for less belly/steering wheel contact.
