Anybody have one of these?Would they be good for snowplowing,or is the engine a little small for the hydro trans?

I had an 876 but I thought it was a little weak with a 8hp kohler. A big block hydro such as a 1076 1077 1276 or 1277 is good for hard working such as snowblowing. 2-4 horse power makes huge difference with hydros.

They work absolutely fine at plowing snow as long as you keep in mind that they are only 8hp.

The biggest thing you have to do is set the WOT (no-load) rpm up to about 3800-4000 so they only pull down to about 3400-3500 when they're working.

You might not be able to shove a full 42" blade width in the heavier stuff, but it still beats the heck out of shoveling.
