front end loader

Recommended Posts

Hi Everyone,

I am wanting to build a front end loader for my gt-14. I was

wondering if anyone that has a FEL can tell me what make and

model hydraulic pump they are using? Also how long a stroke

the main cylinders have and what diameter they are?? And how

long a stroke the bucket dump cylinders are?

Thanks :ychain:

:D Thanks Horsefixer. That little horse on u tube was really

getting it on wth that stone. I think this will be a fun project. I

just really need to find out what pump I need that will work the

loader well and still be able to be run with 14 hp.

:D Thanks wallfish. I found same pump in my new nortern pro

catalog and it's even 10.00 cheaper (139.99). How many horse power

is your tractor? Also what kind of wieght can you pick up? What model

tractor do you have? :ychain:

It's a 16 horse. I run 2 pumps.

I used this pump for the backhoe and the FEL is factory.

The pump will have no problem running a FEL and lifting 500 lbs or more. You will find that any more weight than that makes it difficult to operate the tractor.

Your 14 hp will run a pump with no problem at all.

If you feel you need more power then you can go with this one. It will be slower but higher PSI. Pump 2

Are you going to build your own design or go with a set of plans?

I was going to build my own design but after playing around with drawings and measurements for hours, I still was unsure if it would work. It saved alot of time and took a bunch of guess work out by just buying some proven plans. I believe it also saved me money by not buying the wrong hydraulic parts and wasting materials.

:D Thanks for info Wallfish, I defently appreciate it.

Ihave a number of loader pics and was probably just going to

do my own thing. I thought I would fab the subfame first and get

it mounted then use some 2x4's to fab main loader design, then

use for pattern on steel. I thought at that point I would be able

to figurse out how long a cylinder I would need for lift etc

Boatman, yes iI can do that. I will take a couple pictures later on this afternoon. My loader attaches to the frame. I am unsure which model it is but I do know its the 500 series. Have a good afternoon. See ya, Bye Burly :D

I might have some basic loader plans I got free off the net. I'll take a look for them. I don't think they had anything for hydraulics details but it had all the frame work and bucket plans. I'll try posting them.

Here you go. This should help with some ideas and basic measurements.

You can right click and save the image. If that doesn't work good enough to read them clearly then you can PM me your email address and I'll send them to you. That also goes for anyone else interested in receiving the plans.

:D Thanks for the plan pics Wallfish. That should help alot. I

really appreciate pics. Starting to get quite a bit of info gathered

now. Now I need to get the money part save up. I'm figuring the

cost in eccess of $1500.00. Thanks again :ychain:

:D Brrly 1 looking forward to pics. How does your gt-14 do with the

loader? I would think that the gt tractor would be a better loader tractor

than my 416-8 tractor. It is just built heavier all around. I did get the

trans leak fixed and re did hydraulics. Added seperate valve and

cylinder on three point. Works great with rear blade. :ychain:

Boatman, I got called out to the shop yesterday, I will post some pics this afternoon. I had small hour job this morning so I had to take care of that. I also have the independent lift cylinder on mine an am looking for a back blade. I think its great #1 reason being I can still have the grader blade mounted on mid-section cylinder use a rear grader blade plus us the loader independently but have all three mounted at one time. I do have to believe the GT is the way to go. But I am almost sure that you already knew that beings I am the way I am about the GT14's

Talk to you soon See Ya, Bye Burly :D

:D Hi Brrly 1,

Looking forward to pics. Hope to start this prodject after Christmas. Will

do sub frame 1st. Then thought I would do main frame next. That will

be the cheap part. I want to mount up rights as far back as possible and

keep loader bucket as close to front of tractor as possible. That should

keep as much wieght as possible off front end.

Boatman, as you can see the loader frame is bolted directly to the frame of the tractor. I myself feel that this would be a stronger loader than one of the ones with a subframe that bolts or attaches to a quick hitch. I still need to get out there and do the wiring and that will pretty much wrap it up. I will undoubtly need new hoses but hoping to get alot of work out of the ol' girl. Good Luck

Brrly 1,

Thanks for pics, that gives me a good idea as how to mount

to tractor frame. Nice looking ag tires on rear of tractor, was

wondering where you got those? I haven't been able to find

any ags in the 15" rim size. :ychain: :D

Boatman, they are pretty hard to find to be honest. I found one in Mo. and found another one a swap area in Findlay. I am always still looking to find another set or two when I can. Talk to you soon. See Ya, Bye Burly :ychain:
