trettig 0 #1 Posted December 10, 2010 Will the parts from this newer Wheel Horse (in photo) fit an RJ 58. Parts I hope to fit.... -Steering Wheel -Front rims and tires -Tool box and fenders -Gas Tank What I am asking is... 1) will they fit 2) are they the same part # (to keep it as original as possible) Attached Image
clintonnut 126 #2 Posted December 10, 2010 Wheels and steering wheel "fit" but if you are planning to part out that tractor i wouldnt its too nice. If its a good price it would be a nice addition to your collection. Looks complete with rare starter/generator belt guard and a hydraulic setup!
hcminis 1,532 #3 Posted December 10, 2010 Agree with Charlie. Looks like Brookfield, MA according to profile Charlie.

Indy w h 4 #5 Posted December 10, 2010 Looks like a 701 with a HY-2 to me Indy
trettig 0 #6 Posted December 10, 2010 will the tool box and gas tank fit and be the correct part number as the RJ58.
wallfish 15,940 #7 Posted December 10, 2010 Nope, The tank is completely different. Fenders will fit but not period correct for the RJ I have a tank but it will need to be sealed and a steering wheel but it would also need to be restored. If you are in Brookfield then you are not to far away if you want to come and take a look at them.
trettig 0 #8 Posted December 10, 2010 John, Thanks. I would like to take a look, I will email you. Tom
Kelly 1,028 #9 Posted December 10, 2010 That 701 in the picture looks to be a nice fine, it would be a shame to part it out.
Redbirdman 7 #10 Posted December 11, 2010 yeah and it even looks like it has the dash board! As I learned from you guys here the seat has the right shape and might be correct for the 701 (dont know about that backrest though) but not the for the RJ. I think everyone is correct, you have a gem there if you don't know it! ED
trettig 0 #11 Posted December 11, 2010 Thanks. You are correct. I am new to wheel horse tractors. I didn't know this is a gem of a tractor. Unfortunatly another tractor is not what I should get right now. I am sure you all have been in a similar situation. Tom
Kelly 1,028 #12 Posted December 11, 2010 Well in my opinion, I would get rid of the RJ and get the 701, but that is me.
littleredrider 408 #13 Posted December 11, 2010 And IIRC, that tractor was CHEAP, like $150?? Thought bout snaggin' that but little too far to justify a road trip to the wife....
Indy w h 4 #14 Posted December 11, 2010 So is this 701 for sale ?? Indy
Redbirdman 7 #15 Posted December 11, 2010 Well in my opinion, I would get rid of the RJ and get the 701, but that is me. I am fortunate enough to have snagged both myself. They make great companions and show the progression of Cecil's handiwork very well. Don't forget, these were hands-on tractors before 'corporate' started designing them. GL..............keep em both ED
