Parts from new on Old RJ?

Recommended Posts

trettig

Will the parts from this newer Wheel Horse (in photo) fit an RJ 58.

Parts I hope to fit....

-Steering Wheel

-Front rims and tires

-Tool box and fenders

-Gas Tank

What I am asking is...

1) will they fit

2) are they the same part # (to keep it as original as possible)

Wheels and steering wheel "fit" but if you are planning to part out that tractor i wouldnt its too nice. If its a good price it would be a nice addition to your collection. Looks complete with rare starter/generator belt guard and a hydraulic setup!

Agree with Charlie. Looks like Brookfield, MA according to profile Charlie.

Nope, The tank is completely different. Fenders will fit but not period correct for the RJ

I have a tank but it will need to be sealed and a steering wheel but it would also need to be restored. If you are in Brookfield then you are not to far away if you want to come and take a look at them.

That 701 in the picture looks to be a nice fine, it would be a shame to part it out.

yeah and it even looks like it has the dash board! As I learned from you guys here the seat has the right shape and might be correct for the 701 (dont know about that backrest though) but not the for the RJ.

I think everyone is correct, you have a gem there if you don't know it!

Thanks. You are correct. I am new to wheel horse tractors. I didn't know this is a gem of a tractor. Unfortunatly another tractor is not what I should get right now. I am sure you all have been in a similar situation.

Well in my opinion, I would get rid of the RJ and get the 701, but that is me.

And IIRC, that tractor was CHEAP, like $150?? Thought bout snaggin' that but little too far to justify a road trip to the wife....

I am fortunate enough to have snagged both myself. They make great companions and show the progression of Cecil's handiwork very well. Don't forget, these were hands-on tractors before 'corporate' started designing them.

GL..............keep em both
