The back rests on the round hood tractors

I have a 654 round hood.

Were the back rests I see on the seat pans factory or homeade?

Were they padded or just painted steel? I going to start looking for one.

They were factory and padded. They are hard to find but out there. I'm sure you'll come across one.

Many differnt brands of tractors used them not all correct for a WH but correct is hard to find.

I've been looking for 2 years now. Only one I saw looked like a couple of hyena's got a hold of it and it was $50 :ychain:

Definitely not easy to find. The one shown is NOS, I actually have the original box for it.

I have another one on my 551 which is also in very good shape with no damage on it.

I am lucky to own two of them, but they definitely came at a price.

Although they make it for a much more comfortable ride, they make it hard to get in and out of the tractor and on a ball burner make sure you don't pop any wheelies. If you do so to the point of flipping the tractor ( it has happened to a few of us) you can't jump off of the tractor with the backrest on.
