I've always wanted to do this too, since I build 4wd trucks, why not a tractor?? I can never come up with a simple way for a front axle and how to get power to it, and have it match or even come close the rear ratio.

What kind of Noma tractor did that come out of?? A rear steer??

If that is in fact a 754, you might want to find another tractor to do it to.

There isnt too many of those around, you shouldnt have too much trouble selling that one and buying something else to base your custom on.

If that is a 754 I have a few tractors you can take your pick from for a swap, and I'm not that far from you, about a hour drive.

It's actually a Noma LT rideing mower trans with four wheel steering.

The back wheels on the rider would turn oposit of the fronts for a tighter turning radious......pre Z turn tech?

A member here "Bob Rock" made a latter style Toro GT front assist useing one of these to drive the front wheels.

Good luck with your project.

I think an early round hood would look neat set up with front assist.

But like a lot of Wheel Horse enthusiasts, I'd hate to see an early round hood cut up.

Calm down, guys..... it's not even a '64. :hide:

I'm pretty sure it's a 753 - especially since that's what it says in Dave's signature. :D

That frame style -with the welded battery "box" - and lower steering shaft front casting (where tie rods attach) are definitely '63 parts, but I can't tell what tranz that is. It almost looks like a newer "little" 8 speed with the hi-lo shift shaft cut off. :ychain:

I'm right there with you on saving the round hoods, Stephen. :D
