formariz 12,045 #8 Posted December 8, 2010 Nice,I like that front weight. You dont see those everyday! And you don't ever see 2 on one tractor. Speaking of that I once saw somewhere a mounting bracket for them that could take two weights in the front.
Coadster32 793 #9 Posted December 8, 2010 This was my 551 before I restored it. I was a bit excited, and used it a bit naked. If you are questioning weather or not they can do it, all I can say is it kicked butt!!

Brrly1 1,146 #11 Posted December 8, 2010 Here's a picture of one of the double weight setup I made for the front of a GT14. It would basically be about the same for a suburban or an rj. They also made these weights for the round hoods. See ya, Bye, Burly

Redbirdman 7 #18 Posted December 9, 2010 formariz, great pics and nice tractor. I wonder...is the driveway pavers or formed concrete, and do the tractor chains mar it up at all? WoW.... I almost remember the pavers,,,, we called them 'stop signs'.... interlocking pavers by Grinell from Sparta. My son built a whole snow plowing business based on paving stones and not marring them by flipping a piece of rubber under the plow blade so not to scratch them and not using chains but heavy weights instead. He had dozens of customers and they were all 'pavers'.....and never had any complaints. DAmn I miss that that cold miserable snow! I see the Joisey plates......no? It's been 10 years or so, what the hel* were those stop signs called? ED :ychain:
formariz 12,045 #19 Posted December 10, 2010 formariz, great pics and nice tractor. I wonder...is the driveway pavers or formed concrete, and do the tractor chains mar it up at all? Just curious.... The driveway is all pavers.Under normal circumstances the plow and chains do not mark them, however when the wheels slip it will scratch them. It all goes away after a while as they weather again. I used to go nuts about the smallest oil drop or scratch on them in the beginning but now what the heck. Its bad enough worrying about scratching the car. Worrying about the floor under the car is just too much.
