mdmranger 0 #1 Posted December 7, 2010 Hi, Thanks for the info on getting my drive shaft freed up, now when I use the snowblower it shoot gets plugged up with snow, tried going slow and still the same thing. I have it running at top speed, belt is tight even tried to put wax on inside of shoot.
Shuboxlover 480 #2 Posted December 7, 2010 Is the snow really heavy and wet??? If so, that's probably the reason it's plugging up. Light and fluffy snow seems to blow ALOT better!!!!! I've chiseled out my fair share of snow packed in my blower....
Operator 7 #3 Posted December 8, 2010 Need a nice smooth interior of chute. Wet stuff doesn't throw good. Do we need a safety warning? Do not stick your hand down in to unplug!!!! Broom handle works good. Randy
Shuboxlover 480 #4 Posted December 8, 2010 Do not stick your hand down in to unplug!!!! well.......I meant I do it when the engine is off..... :D
Gerry w 2 #5 Posted December 8, 2010 If your snow removal rig is parked where it is heated that would make the snow more apt to stick to your chute. If the blower is warm, snow will melt, if cold it won't.

wallfish 18,087 #8 Posted December 9, 2010 Instead of slowing down, speed up. The single stages work best when loaded up with snow.

Also if you are lazy like me and don't want to get off the tractor I'll pop the clog out by lifting the blower and take a good bite out of a pile from a previous storm. It is usually dry and dense enough to push out the plug without creating a new one. I'd say 9 out of 10 times it works. If it fails then I use the broom handle.
