multihobbyguy 35 #1 Posted December 6, 2010 I purchased a short frame snow plow for my 867 and purchased the axle bracket also. The problem is after looking it seems that I purchased the wrong bracket. This bracket is the same one that is on my C series tractor and I think I am supposed to have a longer bracket. My question is will the shorter axle bracket work? If it does what will be different function wise? Thank you for your reply's, Chris.
TT-(Moderator) 1,162 #2 Posted December 6, 2010 I don't know what you mean by longer & shorter, but the biggest difference in a period-correct blade for the 867 vs. a newer blade would be the length of the rear mounting "shaft". The older brackets held the A frame from the outside, while the newer brackets locate inside the A frame rails. The newer rear hitch will work with almost all plow frames, but the old style will only work on the A frames with enough of the mounting rod sticking out each side for the hitch to grab. Of course, the older wide hitch can be cut apart and made narrower so it fits the newer blade frame. Confused yet? :D
multihobbyguy 35 #3 Posted December 6, 2010 Thank you TT, this is good news to me. My bracket is a newer one so I will hopefully be in good shape. Now I need to find some time to mount it up. My free time seems in short supply lately. Thanks again, Chris.
