Product service bulletin 71 shows the 1054 and 1054A using the same K241S-46215A engine. A later PSB # 301E shows the 1054A using a K241S-47176 and looks like this is where Toro got their info. The 47176 is a spec number for a K301. If you follow the transmission model numbers they all changed for 1965. That is also when the revised shift rails and stop pin was introduced so suspect that is what created the new model numbers. The operator manual for the 1054A shows the same 5047 transmission as used in the 1054. I think by the time they started to produce the tractors they had the 5051 with new shift rails. The shift rail PSB is # 60 and the part numbers never changed so can't trace them that way. Garry Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Lane Ranger 11,410 #7 Posted December 6, 2010 One other difference to note. The wider front tires (which of course can be changed on a tractor) was the one noticeable difference on a 1054'A.
