jasoncracer 0 #1 Posted December 4, 2010 my plow angl earm is very short previous owner cut it now it hits the brake lever and cant angle the plow fully to the right and when i angle the plow to the left it hits the pto my frame is for long or short frame tractors so the bolt hole where you bolt up the angle arm is in front of the foot rest :wh:
JimD 3,347 #2 Posted December 4, 2010 It sounds like you need to take the arm off and turn it around. There is an offset bend in the arm jut above where the bolt hole is. It should offset toward the tractor, to the inside, not away from the tractor. Pics would help. Jim
stevasaurus 23,281 #3 Posted December 5, 2010 I am guessing that you may be talking about your B-80...had the same thing with my B-100. If that is the case try turning your turn lever around and see if that helps. Worked for me...noticed that JimD said the same thing. Let us know...pics would help. Kelly 1,033 #4 Posted December 5, 2010 Some of the early plows the arm is just a straight piece of bar stock, turning it around will do no good. a picture of your angle arm will help.
stevasaurus 23,281 #5 Posted December 5, 2010 Exxxxcccuuussseee me...I think we would all agree that turning around a straight piece of bar stock is a waste of time.

I think Kelly only meant to emphasize that some of the early arms were straight so turning them around wouldn't solve the problem - I really don't think he was criticizing anybody or calling them stupid. JimD 3,347 #7 Posted December 5, 2010 Are there any straight bars on tractors with the a pto clutch? Pto clutch has me thinking later models. Just curious.
dandan111 31 #8 Posted December 5, 2010 I had to take my lever off and give it some hits with the sledge to make it have better clearence. My lever looked like a strait homade job until I worked it over.
stevasaurus 23,281 #9 Posted December 5, 2010 Kelly and I know each other...I would hope that he took it as funny as I did....really. I hope so any way.
WheelHorse_of_course 99 #10 Posted December 5, 2010 This lever is different for different tractors. Bending it outwards may be the solution.

Raider 2 #12 Posted December 5, 2010 Every plow I've ever had has had the lever bent one way or another so it hits the footrest, PTO, etc. (I think it happens from trying to angle the plow while pushing a load.) Don't be shy it's not a precise part, go ahead and bend it to fit your tractor.
KC9KAS 4,744 #13 Posted December 5, 2010 I have been working on a plow on my B-80, and had to heat and bend a couple of off-sets to clear the foot rest. I don't think this plow was made for the B-80 or B-100, as the lift mechanism also needed some customizing, and yes, I have looked at all the plow installation posts.
