Don1977 604 #1 Posted November 30, 2010 I have a 301 that has been bored out to 30 over and has wore out egg shaped. Has anyone sleeved and Kohler engine back to the standard size. I would also have to use inserts on the rod as the crank is more than 10 under size. I have a good friend who is a machinist so most of the work will not cost a lot. I would have to pay the going price to get the crank shaft ground and the price of the sleeve and gaskets. This is a hit and miss engine my friend built. TT-(Moderator) 1,128 #2 Posted November 30, 2010 Many K-301 blocks can be bored to the standard 3.375" K-321 bore size. You will HAVE to use a K-321 or 341 crankshaft so it's balanced correctly for the heavier piston assembly.
Audioshot 2 #3 Posted December 1, 2010 Love the sound of those Hit and Miss engines. "POP whoosh whoosh whoosh whoosh POP". Very nice.
