The hy2 pump was froze up on my recently purchased 701, I dissassembled it today and I believe everything is in working order but what type of oil does it use.(The mollasses that was in it may have once upon a time been brake fluid) and how much. Also what size width and length belt. If things go well Im going for a joy ride sunday. Really dont know why tractor was parked changed the points cleaned carb and it fired up.

I've been using power steering fluid in my HY-2 and it works fine.

I suppose UTF would be another option, but have never personally tried it.

Belt should be a 3L-510 (3/8" wide X 51" long)

Anywhere from a quart to a quart and a half of a good grade

of tractor hydraulic fluid If it's been setting a long time don't

be surprised to see some leaks. If you do have leaks I sell

re-build kits for them

good luck !!!

Bright side I really think this happened early in this tractors life, engine runs well except for an occasional flooding issue due to float valve. and it had 2 starter belts for a reason (lots of compression).Took off seat and filled transmission to top with diesel and let idle on blocks for about 30 minutes in 3rd gear drained and refilled with gear oil, It has basically no slop in it at all, along with the steering and anywhere else you would expect normall wear.

Well just realized Im bragging,so Ill quit and go do something worthwhile, maybe take a nap.
