W9JAB 156 #1 Posted November 26, 2010  Last year t took three days to get the set collar off this shaft. Not going thru that again. Then I remembered how the shoot blocked my headlights so......... IMG] It's getting that BENTLEY feel :wh:
Sparky-(Admin) 19,592 #2 Posted November 26, 2010 I like the quick disconnect feature but wonder how well the bulbs will hold up being vibrated voilently . Mike........
Forest Road 594 #3 Posted November 26, 2010 I like the light set up! Hey if thse light bulb's don't last look for some low cost led lights. I doubt they'd be affected by the vibration. Let us know!
sgtsampay 117 #4 Posted November 26, 2010 Wow. Thats a really neat set-up. Can you tell me how you rigged up those lights? I have been wanting to do something simular for the back of the tractor but never thought about the snowblower chute blocking the headlight.. So I Might have to do lights on the frong likw you did. Can you show me what you did for wiring and where did you find those lights? Also, nice older horse you got there. It really looks a lot like my 68 raider.
TT-(Moderator) 1,128 #5 Posted November 26, 2010 A "U" shaped bracket patterned after the HL-5 part could also be fabbed & installed so that the current headlights on the tractor could be moved to shine on either side of the chute. I would also like to see how long the thrower-mounted bulbs will last. If the vibration wouldn't blow them out, I'd probably have them knocked off in a drift.
Gerry w 2 #6 Posted November 26, 2010 Interesting ideas! I like that disconnect, wish I had thought of it with the Vermonster! Your side flanges should help those lights keep on the blower. Ask the Duke about LED ones, if they would/might last longer. Still, some ingenious ideas, well done!
W9JAB 156 #7 Posted November 27, 2010 I'm not to worried about the lamps buzzin, I had the same type on the fender for 4 years with the same bulb and the head lamps....well they shake pretty good and same amount of time with out a problem. I think more of them getting sucked into the auger! Some may rember that this is a combo unit. Snow blower/Nail trimer
AMC RULES 36,945 #8 Posted November 27, 2010 Gotta love the additional lights during snow removal duties. Been thinking about adding some additional lighting to the top of my snow cab, but not too sure about where to splice into the factory harness. Maybe you're running directly off the battery? Looks good but how'd you do that? :)
