engine swap

first off thanks guys for all the welcome notes, bought 2 more horses with deck and blower, motor on the b-100 needs to be rebuilt, the second horse i got is a 310-8 1980 something. well it looks like the same motor both kohler both 10hp, im changing the motor as i type, need help with the electronics, im not sure but i dont think i need the regulator/rectafier off the 77 b-100, if i use the 310-8 motor, any one with insight please let me know, also have to swap exhaust. thanks for your help an time.

The 310 engine should have the diode-rectified 3A charging system.
