dgoyette 12 #1 Posted November 17, 2010 Here are two shots of this years line up. Overkill? Maybe. The D-180 will have a 56" snow blade to try out this year. The two stage is being powered by the C-160. I stacked two wheel weights on the rear and likely will put iron weights on the wheels as well. Ranger will get chains and I am interested to see how it does in the smaller storms. 416-H with single stage and 314-8 with JBJR I enjoy winter so much more since I started collecting the horses
mattd860 162 #2 Posted November 17, 2010 Nice looking linup!!!! But why not put the 2-stage blower on the 416-H with the cab???

dennist 139 #4 Posted November 17, 2010 Darren, Excellent line-up. When we have gone through the long winter with a lot of snow, I get bored from all the truck snow plowing, but it must be hard for you to get bored using a different tractor each storm. Enjoy the up-coming months.-Dennis
Horse Fanatic 51 #5 Posted November 17, 2010 I'd say you're ready for anything with that line up!
Lane Ranger 11,410 #6 Posted November 17, 2010 Looking good Darren for whatever a Maine winter brings on this year!
dgoyette 12 #7 Posted November 17, 2010 But why not put the 2-stage blower on the 416-H with the cab??? I did go back on forth on that. I may switch, but I really had my mind set on using the single stage as the primary and also really wanted to use the 416-H as primary. So that's how it landed. Thanks for the comments guys. Dennis - curious what are you using this year? One of the things I am looking forward to is seeing new snow videos on you tube. I have seen them all and I can't wait for new ones! Hopefully will make a few of my own. I'm sure you will get us some more this year too Lane?

JoeMonag 1 #11 Posted November 17, 2010 Have you use your Jb jr. for snow? I have one on my 310-8, that I use in the yard. in the spring summer and fall. haven't tried it in the snow. I have a two stage that I'll put on my 416-8. I have always used the 42" dozer blade for the past 30 years. I'm interested how the JBjr would work witht "snow shoe" scraper option. I haven't tried it in the winter, because you can't pivot the Jbjr on an angle like the wheel horse plow. I now have two wheel horse in my herd, your heard looks real nice. Joe in Norton Joe - I have not used it for snow yet. Honestly I do not expect it to be effective and really it will be an excuse to play with it. No angle and limited lift height make it less than ideal for sure. Might be ok in a pinch but I would not want to use it all winter.

dennist 139 #18 Posted November 18, 2010 Darren, I have a few large properties that I maintain and with that comes a plow truck. That is nice to stay out of the weather with, but by the end of the season I am sick of plowing-The larger property is over a mile in and goes over a causeway to an island, the causeway gets socked with the drifting snow all day and night when the wind blows. I have to plow over and over seems like never ending. Before I had that job I really loved to snow plow, but now it is work.

(Unseen by other Red Square members, OtherCar begins to fashion snow blades for his Rotohoe Rotatiller, Murry and Lawn Boy push mowers and is considering adding a blade and wheel to his weed eater...............)
