Belt Routing on 857

Recommended Posts

I am wondering if the belt is routed correctly on my tractor, the blades engage great but with the pedal down they never really go to a rest or stop, did I do something wrong? did a quick test cut and it seems to cut great on the outter edge but not in the center, need to get under it tonite and see whats up with the blades, thanks, Tom

The belt IS routed correctly, but you might need to swing the "L" shaped guide up around a little more on the tensioner pulley.

The "wire" guide bolted to the engine on the front side of the belt also needs to be adjusted so it will help to push the belt up out of the groove on the engine pulley when the PTO is disengaged.

Make sure the groove on the engine pulley is clean and smooth, and the belt is the correct length, width, and type for your application.

No problem, Tom! ( , by the way!)

The "L" shaped guide on the tensioner pulley should almost be touching the belt when the PTO is engaged. That way, it will sort of pinch the belt when you disengage the PTO. That also helps to push the belt up out of the engine pulley.
