papaglide 541 #1 Posted November 7, 2010 Well I installed my rebuilt starter generator and voltage regulator on the tractor and expected to hear the thing fire up.....turned the key and not one sound came out. Battery tested good. Could a bad solenoid be the culprit? If I cant get this thing going it may be on the chopping block! Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
JUSS10 250 #2 Posted November 8, 2010 do you have a test light? a volt meter would work also but what i would do is start with a test light at the battery. put the clip on the negative terminal then start at the pos on the battery and keep going through the system to make sure you got juice. battery > ignition switch > wire from the switch to the solenoid and so on. a test light is your best friend to work out electrical problems.
