starter solenoid from ebay is suitable for my 1978

Hi all,

Would anyone know if this starter solenoid from ebay is suitable for my 1978 Wheel Horse C101?

Your C-101 uses a 108544 (replacement for the original 8658). Ask the seller if he has any cross-reference numbers that would match up with either of those numbers. The original solenoid was a three-wire.

I would think that if one of the small lugs was for the coil, and the base of the solenoid or the other small lug is ground, it should work.

There are three post and four post. If your tractor has a three post and you buy a four post, you ground one of the small posts and your key switch goes to the other (it doesn't matter which of the two you ground).

These aren't that expensive, you should be able to get one at any power equipment dealer and not have to pay for shipping on top of it.
