nwh1-0475 0 #1 Posted April 23, 2008 Gentlemen, I am a new owner of a 10 Automatic Model # 1-0475. I used it for the first time this year last weekend and two of the bolts that hold the diff. together in the transmission were sheared in half and got under the ring gear and cracked the case. I took to somebody that said they could fix it and ended up doing more damage to it. I was wondering if I could find somebody who could actually fix it right will it be as strong as before it was broken or would it be better to try and find a different one. Thanks for your help. refracman 167 #2 Posted April 23, 2008 nwh if the case is busted it can be welded but whoever does has to know how to weld cast. and you can either get the bolts, washers and nuts from Toro or find some grade 8s to replace them all, also you have to inspect the diff hubs and see if the bolt holes are wobbled out if so time for another trans, since replacements are not available You would most likely be better off gettin another trans. If you post where ya live maybe somebody here can hook you up. Good luck!
T-Mo-(Moderator) 4,610 #3 Posted April 23, 2008 First off, . I don't think I can add anything more than what Steve has already said, but I do think getting a "new" transmission would be a good idea.

T-Mo-(Moderator) 4,610 #5 Posted April 23, 2008 Hi, fellow Missourian. I don't have a case, but there are a couple of members here from Missouri who might or could help. Dean (Eastcoastyankee) and Frank (Bowtieguy) might be able to hook you up with a case.
nylyon-(Admin) 7,882 #6 Posted April 23, 2008 Welcome to RedSquare. You are probably better off just replacing the entire trans. You should be able to find one at a reasonable price and there are many which should fit. Again, and :WRS:

Again, and Ok, Since being new to the Wheel Horse World, what transmissions would fit this fine machine I have. So far other than the idiot that put grade 2 bolts in the differential I simply love this machine. I would like to find a grader blade for it, or could I use my dozer blade to level the driveway out. I have a snow blower for it but don't know if I will really ever have a use for it here in SW MO. Thanks for the help.

nwh1-0475 0 #13 Posted April 30, 2008 Well, I found another transmission at a lawn mower junk yard. It is a working transmission and the guy wants 350.00 for it . He also told me that he has a NOS transmission that he wants 1200.00 for . I guess I will keep looking. If'n anybody has a left hand case they want to part with for a Sundstrand Hydro trans #90-1136 let me know. Thanks.
nwh1-0475 0 #14 Posted April 30, 2008 I have found a case on e-bay but it is for a C-160. After looking at the all of the parts it appears to have 1 1/8" axle shafts, which won't work on my tractor. Can somebody verify this for me. If it will work let me know I would like to get the case. Thanks.
