between my home business and my fulltime night job i stay pretty busy this time of year.i got to bed about 6 a m this morning.at 10 a m my doorbell wouldnt stop ringing so i finally went to answer it.it was my neighbor and friend who mows and junks for a living.(he knows besides working on peoples lawn & garden stuff and buying selling and trading garden tractors i keep my private small stash of antique/vintage garden tractors i play with).this was on the back of his trailer.he wanted to know if i wanted it.well....he knew i did when he loaded it lol.i traded him a junk craftsman rider and 3 junk aluminum engines,a scrape mower deck and a few pieces of tin for it.he is going to see if he can get the hood for me but i wont hold my breath it may already be scrap metal.ok on to the tractor.its a 753 with the wrong engine.(the friend has the kohler he says is original but thinks it worth a few hundred dollers).the shifter is loose in the tranny, dont know why the kid was taking it out,i havent had time to look at it yet.it does have the rear sleeve hitch.i have some questions for you experts.what year or years is a 753 ? what other hood are the same if i have to try to find one?what engine did this come with?in the number series of wheel horses where does this one stand?what is the differences between them ? (653,753 etc. cant think of any of the other numbers right now.) thanks all in advance,im sure i will have more questions as i get a chance to look it over.hope the pictures work.jim

7 is the horse power - 5 means electric start - 3 is the year 1963.

Yes it is a 1963 - Just like mine except I removed the electric start and went with the recoil version.

You're gonna need a piece of 3/4" round stock welded back on the frame so you have something to mount the footrests on. (and the pedals)

If I get a chance, I'll measure one of mine so you get the length right.

well no it didnt but with not enough time to go around and way to many projects and the fact that my wife is 7 1/2 months pregnant and getting ready to go on maternanty leave, which will make us shorter on money.im going to have to thin things out and stick to 3 or 4 tractor toys for now.just gotta know where your priorties should be i guess.i would love to keep it but just cant justifie it at this point.on top of that if you will look at my past recent ebay auctions you will see im in the process or moving a boat load of vintage lawn and garden tractors, between that and my fulltime job i havent had time for much else and if we get them all in and auctioned, there should be 40-60 more before we are done.
