ARK 550 loader with replacement pistons

Recommended Posts

Picked up a D-160 with a Ark 550 fel on it took some time to get it going and I had to top off the hydraulic fluid to get it home but it made it! I am having some issues with the hydraulics. First the cylinders are not stock, second I can not raise the loader unless I am curling the bucket. Also noticed that the loader is completely hooked up wrong. the valve with the float is on the bucket not the loader. Also the hoses are backward too pissing the lever raises the bucket and loader. Question I have is the original system on a ARK loader, was it open or closed center?? Four way, three way??? I don't know even if I change the hoses around to be correctly functioning will that fix my issue with it not moving one with out the other??

Found out that the lines were crossed and were fighting each other. Now it works good!! The tractor has a 40" bucket on it is that correct for a Ark 550??
