42" blade question

it appears that the wear bar on my 42" snow blade has never been replaced. It is wore down to the point that the holes for the carriage bolts that hold it to the plow itself are all either worn half way through or off.

where can I get a new wear bar?

Any ideas on how to attach it?

should I just scrap this blade and look for another one?

I did the same thing to my blade

I fixed it by getting a piece of flat steel, and drilling through the "good" part of the blade to mount the steel, it still works REALLY great, but doesn't look as good as original. But at least it works.

You can get a new ware bar / cutting edge from Toro, and if you have a welder weld up the holes, or as SOI said drill them up higher, or I believe your In MI. so am I and I have blades.

I think moving the loction of the holes would be easier. weld can be hard to drill and tap a times. once you move the holes then you can fill the old ones up with weld.

have same problem on my new plow just bring it up abouve those holes as little as possible re drill new holes and flat stock you can get really anywhere good luck :thumbs:

te blade is wore down to the point that I would have to dril through the square stock that makes up the frame of the blade. Do you think that would be an issue?

well my 2 cents is just find another good blade . there are a lot of collectors up in mi . that will hook you up :thumbs:

best and cheapest way as kelley said have some one weld the holes and home depot sells the flat stock you need and redrill the holes done a cheap fix!!! :thumbs:

so before I do this the general concensus is just redrill the holes up higher even though I will be going through the square stock that makes up the blades framework?
