PerfectDanny 0 #1 Posted October 24, 2010 1968 Raider 9 model number 16931. Im guessing it has a 42" deck on it but I need to know for sure to replace a broken belt powering the deck. Is there a model number stamped on it somewhere, can I measure the blade length and cross reference it somehow, anything? Thanks, Danny
C-Series14 15 #2 Posted October 24, 2010 If it is a 42", the VIN will be 5-1421. Your tractor's VIN is 1-6931. I believe if you go to Toro's site and enter the tractor's VIN, it will show what attachments fit it....
TT-(Moderator) 1,162 #3 Posted October 24, 2010 The deck could also be an RL-426, 5-1422, 5-1423, etc., depending on how and when the tractor was sold. A 42" (cutting width) deck should have 3 equal-length blades measuring a little over 14" corner to corner. If it still has the drive belt tensioner assembly mounted to the side of the tractor frame under the PTO pulley on the engine, the belt is 69" long X 1/2" wide. The OEM belt # was either 6737 or 9782.
PerfectDanny 0 #4 Posted November 7, 2010 Thanks, I ended up taking the broken belt to a local auto parts store and found one closest to the broken size. When I removed the deck to replace the belt I uncovered the original tag that had been painted over a few times making it almost invisible. The rivets had fallen out but somehow it was stuck in place until I touched it. Turns out as you suggested it is a 5-1421 with a serial number 460100. I sharpened the blades, installed the new belt and it now cuts like a dream. I love my wheel horse. Thanks again for the help.
